TWO NEW TENANTS

TWO NEW TENANTS

Several new stores are close to opening at Greenwich Place, the 106-acre development at K-96 and Greenwich that’s already home to the Wichita Sports Forum, Bed Bath & Beyond, World Market and BuyBuy Baby.

Maurices, a women’s clothing store, will join the retail lineup early October as will Ultra Beauty.

First up, though, is HomeGoods, a home decor sister store to T.J. Maxx and Marshalls that’s opening on Sunday. Keep an eye out for a possible soft opening on Friday, though.

Next comes Mardel, a Christian book and gift store that will open Sept. 26. Then comes the highly anticipated Designer Shoe Warehouse, which is better known as DSW. It’s opening Oct. 6. Then Ross Dress for Less will open the next day on Oct. 7.

These stores are all in a line next to the three existing stores.

Out closer to K-96, Cavender’s is under construction. The Texas-based western wear store won’t open until early 2017.

MARDEL TO OPEN IN KANSAS

MARDEL TO OPEN IN KANSAS

Mardel is opening a new store at Greenwich Place, a 106-acre development in Wichita, Kansas.

The new, 25,000-square-foot Mardel location is now under construction.

“Barring any delays, we hope to open in the fall of 2016,” said Bob Miller, communications coordinator with the chain, which has more than 30 locations in seven states.

Greenwich Place also will have a Bed Bath and Beyond, DSW Shoes, World Market and BuyBuy Baby, according to the Wichita Eagle.

Mardel has one other store in the state in Overland Park.

GREENWICH PLACE CONTINUES TO GROW

GREENWICH PLACE CONTINUES TO GROW

Confirmation that Designer Shoe Warehouse is coming to Greenwich Place in Wichita, KS this year has happened!

Greenwich Place is already home to the Wichita Sports Forum, Bed Bath & Beyond, World Market and BuyBuy Baby.

As Have You Heard? reported on Tuesday, Ross Dress For Less also now has a sign at the development saying that it’s “coming soon.” It looks like neither of Wichita’s two existing Ross stores will be affected, meaning the Greenwich Place Ross will be the third for the market.

There’s also going to be a third Wichita Ulta Beauty that will open at Greenwich Place.

That’s not all. Joining those stores will be HomeGoods, a home decor sister store to T.J. Maxx and Marshalls; Cavender’s, a Texas-based western wear store; and Mardel, a Christian book and gift store, though none of those stores is confirming the news yet.

In 2013, Have You Heard? first reported DSW was coming to the market. Employees at a couple of the chain’s more than 400 stores began telling Wichitans who shopped there that DSW had plans to open at NewMarket Square.

An employee even checked one of the store’s electronic tablets and found the NewMarket store on the list.
